Born ? - Joined the family 2007) Another rescue. Very shy and skittish. Kind of a loner. Getting a little on the fat side now. Starts winning when things don't go her way. She developed a spot on her rear paw that she will not leave alone. Also like running the wheels a lot now. Slimming down a little.. She really like to stand in the sun beams as they come thru the window. |

Born 2000? - Joned the family 2008 Picked up in 2008 with Miss Piggy. She is the most complacent and nonchalant Prairie Dog I have ever seen. Loves a good scratching. But then what Prairie Dog doesn't? Summer 2011, she has deleveloped an infection in her mouth. We later found she has a bad tooth. had to have it removed and the infection drained. Getting better but she has a long road ahead of her. Fall 2011, She had to have 4 more teeth remomed. Sad news, she has odontoma. Her days with us are numbered. |

Born? - Joned the family 2008 Another Lula-Belle (see below). Always digging around and getting into things. Totally far sighted, cant see 2 inches in front of her face. Was very hard to handle when we got her. Every once in awhile you would touch a certain location on her and she would cry out or even try to bite you. We later found she had a hernia on her lower back. Got that fixed and she all better now. Always scampering around searching for things. Uses all her energy up fast, so she is the 1st one up in the morning and the 1st to bed down at night. |

Below are the praire dogs that have passed on ,

Born 2001 - Joined the family 2001. Our 1st Prairie Dog, Mitch's baby. Purchased at a pet store before the ban of 2002. By far the most inquisitive and curious. Always getting into things. Climbing into boxes, opening cabinet doors and just plain getting into trouble. She only have 3 toes on the the right rear foot. This was due to a piece of straw getting wrapped around her leg and cutting off the circulation. Damage was done before it was discovered. She seems to shed twice as many time per year as the others. April 2008. She is sick and losing weight rapidly. May 2008. She has been diagnosed with cancer and there is not much we can do. Her time left with us is short. She passed away in Susans arms, July 2008. We miss her so. |
